Cross Academy is a place where you have the day class (humans) and the night class (vampires). The day class have no idea about vampire or that the night class are vampires. The day class worship the night class because of there beauity. The night class are not aloud to fed off humans (or the day class) because they drink blood tablets. The night class are made up of upper-class vampires, as there is a hierarchy among vampire society. "Purebloods" (Level A) are the rarest and most elite, having never mixed with humans in their ancestry. They are also the most powerful and their blood is the most desirable as it grants whoever drinks it greater powers. Purebloods are also the only class of vampire with the power to turn humans into other vampires. The other students are "nobles" AKA: "aristocrats" (Level B) whose bloodlines have only slightly mixed with humans. They are still very powerful however, but not as powerful as purebloods.
Lower classes of vampires (levels C, D, and E) consist of humans who have been changed into vampires- not born as one. These types of vampires eventually go insane with bloodlust unless they are stabilized by drinking the blood of the one who originally bit them. Level E vampires are almost always beyond help, losing all their rationality and kill without remorse to get blood But the lower classes are NOT aloud to go to Cross Academy.
It is the job of the prefects aka guardians to protect the night class from the day class because the day class are obsessed with them, they try and take photos of them or give them gifts and that might up with them having fang marks on there necks. The night class (vampires) must drink from blood tablets that are popped into a glass of water, these tablets are meant to sate a vampire's thirst for blood.
Hunters Association aka vampire hunters only hunt Lower class vampires because they have lose there humanity and they are monster, they have given into the best with in them. So they must be killed or they would just keep killing humans in order to feed. Lower class vampires are the ones that have been bitten by a pureblood but have NOT drank the blood of the pureblood that has bitten them. So the human would slowly turn into a vampire but he or she would be a lower class vampire. So the vampire hunters would kill them.
